CHICKENS

Did you know?

1. Chickens have a good memory and can recognize over 200 faces.

2. They were first domesticated around 8,000 years ago.

3. The males dance to inform the flock that food is available.

Tangen Dyrepark has 2 breeds of chickens: Paduan and Barnevelder.

- The Paduan is an old breed, it is believed to originate from Poland or Italy. Ours are black and white, and lay white eggs.
- Barnevelder is a Dutch breed. They are heavier than paduan. The ones we have are black and brown, and they lay brown eggs
